Pesticide ScreeningPesticide Screening is used to detect trace amounts of chemical pesticides in dried flowers and cannabis concentrates. Certain pesticides are allowed for use in the cultivation of cannabis and hemp; however, there are many that are not permitted because of unknown and known dangers related to human consumption. It is important to note that even if a cultivator is not using chemical pesticides, some can infiltrate through neighboring farms. We test for several pesticides per California State Law. Here are a few that we currently test for:
- Abamectin
- Acephate
- Aldicarb
- Azoxystrobin
- Bifenthrin
- Boscalid
- Brodifacoum
- Bromodiolone
- Carbaryl
- Carbofuran
- Chlorantraniliprole
- Chlordane
- Chlorfenapyr
- Coumaphos
- Cyfluthrin
- Daminozide
- DDVP (Dichlorvos)
- Diazinon
- Difenacoum
- Difethialone
- Dimethoate
- Dimethomorph
- Ethoprop(hos)
- Etofenprox
- Fenoxycarb
- Fipronil
- Fludioxonil
- Imazalil
- Imidacloprid
- Malathion
- Metalaxyl
- Methiocarb
- Methomyl
- Methyl parathion
- Mevinphos
- Myclobutanil
- Naled
- Paclobutrazol
- Propiconazole
- Propoxur
- Spiroxamine
- Tebuconazole
- Thiacloprid
- Thiamethoxam
Potency Testing Potency testing is used to measure the amount of cannabinoids in a sample. This information is necessary to help consumers understand the potential effects their products will have and give manufacturers the ability to optimize the products they produce for sale. We test for the following cannabinoids:
- Delta 9THC
- THCA
- CBDA
- CBD
- CBG
- CBN
Microbial Testing Microbial Testing is necessary to make sure your cannabis is free from harmful toxins, bacteria, yeast, and molds. Our screening technology can determine the presence of different species of bacteria and fungus, including:
- STEC E.Coli
- Salmonella Spp
- Aspergillus spp
- A. niger
- A. terreus
- A. flavus
- A. fumigatus
Residual Solvents Chemical solvents are utilized to extract what it is needed to manufacture concentrated cannabis products. However, many of the solvents are dangerous if they are inhaled or ingested. That’s why it’s necessary to perform residual solvent analysis to make sure your concentrated cannabis products are free from these dangerous chemicals. LabPlex Utilizes the latest technology to confirm even the smallest presence of these solvents and produce results that you can carry with confidence.
- Benzene
- Methanol
- Ethanol
- Isopropanol
- Hexanes
Water Activity A product’s water activity determines its ability to grow mold or fungus. LabPlex tests for water activity using a specialized meter that will help detect a products susceptibility to biological growth.
Moisture Activity A plant’s moisture content is the percentage of water retained by a cannabis flower. It is a state requirement and is used to measure discrepancies in a flower’s THC content based on its water content. Changes in moisture can make results inaccurate and even have an effect on a product’s weight.
Hemp Testing Hemp growers can greatly benefit from analytical testing. Whether your goal is to meet state requirements or to certify a specific product, laboratory testing will help reduce your risk and ensure that the products you’re distributing are of the highest quality and safe for public consumption. Our testing methods are precise, fast, and provide you with the information you need to conduct your business with confidence.
Terpenes Terpenes play an important role in diversifying the effects of the cannabis you consume. They are the naturally occurring aromatic compounds that contribute to the taste and aroma of the cannabis plant. There are different kinds of terpenes in every plant and our terpene testing is used to analyze concentrations of these terpenes within a cannabis product.
- Limone
- delta-3-Carene
- Nerolidol
- Limone
- Geraniol
- (-)-alpha-Bisabolol
- Terpinolene
- p-Cymene
- Eucalyptol
- (-)-Isopulegol
- beta-Pinene
- Gamma-Terinene
- b-Myrcene
- Beta-Caryophyllene
- Alpha-Terpinene
- Alpha-humulene
- Ocimene
- (-)-Guaiol
- Camphene
- (-)-Caryophyllene Oxide
Heavy Metals Labplex is capable of analyzing the smallest trace of heavy metals that your cannabis plant may accumulate while it’s growing. Even in small amounts, traces of heavy metals can have severe effects on the body. In order to combat this, we test for:
- Arsenic
- Lead
- Mercury
- Cadmium
Mycotoxin Testing There are species of mold that are capable of producing neurotoxic compounds that have been proven to be harmful to humans. Being exposed to these compounds for a long period of time can lead to serious illness. LabPlex performs testing for mycotoxins to ensure your consumers are safe from their harmful effects.
- Aflatoxin B1
- Aflatoxin B2
- Aflatoxin G1
- Aflatoxin G2
- Ochratoxin A
Moisture Testing A plant’s moisture content is the percentage of water retained by a cannabis flower. It is a state requirement and is used to measure discrepancies in a flower’s THC content based on its water content. Changes in moisture can make results inaccurate and even have an effect on a product’s weight.
Foreign Matter LabPlex will perform a visual inspection of the entire sample to screen for any foreign substance that will be a cause of concern for a consumer. We will inspect for:
- Hair
- Insect Parts
- Fecal matter
- Etc…
